Welcome to the fourth instalment of Behind The Porn (and the second for this week, you’re welcome :-) This is a series of articles where I interview the biggest names in the world of gay porn. The goal? To showcase a different side to your favourite entertainers.
I really love getting to know people on a deeper level. With porn stars, it’s all to easy to see them as being only one dimensional. But behind the performer, there is a person. And it’s that person that I hope to showcase in this series.
What makes them tick, what do they like to do in their downtime and where are they going with their lives. I find these topics really interesting – and I hope you do too!
When it comes to the hottest gay porn stars on the planet, it’s hard to go past Logan Moore. Here is a guy who is at the top of his game. He looks amazing, he’s got a great work ethic and he’s amassed a huge and loyal following on social media.
It all sounds peachy, right? Except that as I’m sure many guys can relate to, when one area of your life is going well, there may be issues in other areas of your life. So while his career continues to go from strength to strength, Logan’s had issues in other areas of his life. Most notably, his very public breakup from his fiancé in 2017.
Going through personal challenges is always hard, but when you’ve got a huge public profile, it’s even harder. So I wanted to get a feel for how Logan’s doing, but at the same time, I didn’t want to dwell too much on the negative.
Logan was an absolutely lovely guy to deal with while working on this interview together. I’m so happy he’s taken the time out of his super busy schedule to have a chat. I’d like to let him know that I (as I’m sure many readers) really do appreciate it.
So, without any further ado, check out my interview with Logan below.
Logan Moore Interview
Little Gay Blog – So, you’re originally from The Netherlands, right? How does a Dutch guy become one of the most popular gay adult performers in the world? How did your career in porn begin?
Logan – It started as a joke. I was being asked so many times to do porn. So finally after many years of being approached, I said, ‘OK, let’s make one movie.’ That way, when I’m old I can say that it’s something I did.
I never expected that I would become one of the biggest names in gay porn. I’m very proud of that as nobody from my home country has become this big as a gay adult performer.
Even from Europe, there aren’t many guys who have made it this far. (I’m saying this without trying to come across as arrogant:-) Because I’m still wondering, ‘Why me?’ haha…
What do you like to do in your downtime? Do you have any hobbies or interests?
The first two years of my career, I rarely had time for my hobbies. So in the last year and a half, I have decided to take more time off to enjoy life. For instance, I now stay a bit longer when I visit a place for work and I go exploring.
I love city trips and my hobbies in general are sports, dance, movies and games. I’m a big zombie geek. I also just love spending time with my family and friends.
The world of gay porn seems like a fantasy for a lot of people. What’s one thing about the industry that we don’t know that might surprise people?
It all looks glamorous and amazing, but it really is a hardcore business. One moment you’re in and the next moment, you’re out. But that’s a general thing in entertainment.
I think people underestimate the hard work we put into a 20 minute porn movie. First, you have the time you spent travelling to the location (as we come from afar). Then shooting can take anywhere from four to fifteen hours in a day! That’s something that surprised me a lot too.
Then our whole lifestyle is about our work. We need to look fit and hot. Then social media takes up your whole day, responding to fans and keeping our profiles up to date.
So it’s a lifestyle we fall into and then it becomes a job. At the end of the day, we want all of our fans to be happy – or at least that’s my goal.
In doing my research for this interview, it looks like you’ve gone through a lot of personal and career issues recently. How are you doing at the moment, and what life lessons are you learning along the way?
My career is actually going really well, so no issues there. All of the issues were actually to do with my ex, not with me. I was just protecting him. On a personal level, I have had a bad year this year (2017) and in some ways, it’s still haunting me.
You would think I could never trust guys anymore in my life, but I don’t want to be bitter. I know not everybody is like my ex, and I like to give guys a chance.
The main thing I’ve learnt is that even when I love somebody so much, I wouldn’t be so open financially with them. I know that might not sound fair to any new guy in my life, but I paid a big price in my last relationship, so hopefully they will be able to understand where I’m coming from.
Guys would look at you and think you have the perfect body. Have you ever had any body image issues, and how do you think of yourself and your body?
Haha, I’m not perfect at all! I train almost everyday until the moment I start traveling. When you travel, it’s just so hard to maintain your body.
For years (and even now), I’m sad that I can’t get abs. My body is just not made to get them. I have tried everything!
I think for people who have issues with there body I would say, as long as you’ve tried everything, make peace with it. Sometimes, some things aren’t meant to be.
Have you ever experienced any online hate or negativity, and do you have any advice for guys (especially younger guys) about how to deal with it?
I have never had any major negativity against me. If there ever was something, I always say as long as people are talking about you (whether it’s bad or good), you must be doing something right.
People only talk about you when you’re important. Open up any gossipy news magazine and you’ll see it’s only about celebs who matter. That’s a tip I learnt when I was younger from a Dutch celebrity. From that moment on, I don’t care who says what.
Only when it comes to your inner circle, then it matters. But outside of that, who cares what others think. Are you happy? That’s what matters!
What are your plans for the future? Where would you like to be in 5 years time?
Work as a director or having my own brand in something. Maybe both would be nice.
Last TV show you watched?
Riverdale and Arrow.
Favourite time of year?
Summer. I love the sun and wearing as little as possible, haha.
Boxers or briefs (or nothing)?
Message to your fans?
I love each of you and I’m so thankful for you! Because of you I have my career and I hope I can make you guys happy for a long time, in the pants and out ;-)
You only live once – so enjoy every moment of it.
